Currency Trading Agreement

(NAFTA) North American Free Trade Agreement. It’s origin and objective.?
Who is the primary author of NAFTA and was it initiated to streamline capitalism and continued economic growth or as a remedy to future economic projections? Is this groundwork for a NA union and a common currency like the Euro? Who does it primarily benefit and how are everyday Americans effected? The euphemism “Free Trade” is very misleading.
NAFTA was crafted by international businesses looking to reduce costs.
As for who benefits, everybody. Although most see it in terms of factories closing in the US and moving to Mexico as a negative. The positive is that goods are produced for less, so that the stuff we consume costs less. As we pay less, we have additional money to buy other things.
Think about it like this.. If a Computer cost $20,000 because it was made in the US, would you buy it? If no, would Google exist? Would web designers exist? Would the internet exist to support whole industries? All because we offshored computer manufacturing overseas and they now only cost a few hundred bucks.
NAFTA and similar trade policies which promote trade is good for everything. And eventually those out of work factory workers might be working for some new industry that can’t been seen. The big political issue is how to deal with the temporary shock to the economy and workforce during the transition.
