It was designed by none other than D Udaya Kumar, post-graduate from IIT, Bombay. The Indian currency which was backed over by trillion dollar economy has now made its presence felt over the international scene. It was most anticipated that the symbol will be embossed on currency notes, but it is said that the symbol will not be embossed on coins or other currency notes. Unicode is a global standard that permits text data to be swapped globally without any conflict. Once it has been incorporated in the Indian and worldwide codes, this new Indian symbol will be used by almost every individual and units within and outside the nation. Within a span of 6 months or so, this symbol will be adopted within the country. With a year or two, it may get adopted globally as well. Interesting news is that the currency symbol may be featured over computer keyboards for worldwide use as well.
